Seahawks reach agreement with Laviska Shenault on contract terms

The Seahawks have added another player to their roster with the hope of improving their return game. Laviska Shenault, a former second-round pick for the Jaguars in 2020, has joined Seattle. He had experience as a kick returner, averaging 27.7 yards per return on nine attempts over the past two seasons.

The new kick return rule may increase Shenault’s value with the Seahawks, and his potential as a receiver could make him a valuable asset to the team. Although he had shown promise as a receiver earlier in his career, catching 121 passes for 1,219 yards with five touchdowns in his first two seasons, his production decreased during his time with the Panthers. In the last two years, he had only 37 catches for 332 yards with one touchdown.

Seattle’s decision to sign Shenault shows their interest in strengthening their special teams and adding versatility to their roster. With his experience as a kick returner and potential as a receiver, he could be an asset to the team moving forward.
