Scarlett Johansson in discussions for lead role in upcoming ‘Jurassic World’ film

Scarlett Johansson is currently in talks to star in Universal’s new Jurassic World movie, which is set to be released on July 2, 2025. The film will be directed by Gareth Edwards, with a script written by David Koepp. This marks the latest installment of the long-running franchise that began with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 hit film Jurassic Park and has since spawned several sequels and spin-offs.

Johansson is no stranger to franchises, having previously starred as Black Widow in various Marvel Studios films, including the Avengers series. Despite her success in the superhero genre, she has also made a name for herself in other projects, earning two Oscar nominations for her roles in Marriage Story and JoJo Rabbit. She is also set to voice a character in the upcoming animated feature Transformers One and will appear in a big-budget Apple feature alongside Channing Tatum, both scheduled for release this year.

Gareth Edwards took over directing responsibilities after David Leitch departed from the project shortly after joining. The new Jurassic World movie promises to be an exciting addition to the franchise’s legacy, with fans eagerly anticipating its release.
