Local Officials Find Joy and Positivity in Business Openings

Recently, three new businesses have been welcomed to Santa Monica with ribbon cutting ceremonies organized by the Chamber of Commerce. Firstly, on 1413 5th St., Oasis Restaurant opened its doors, owned by Mickey Barnes and Brenda Garcia. The vast space of the restaurant was celebrated and Oasis also received a $10,000 donation from Los Angeles Football Club and Pepsi to support black-owned businesses through the Pepsi Dig In initiative.

Two days later, Bandit E-Bikes, a bicycle service and repair shop with a variety of e-bike inventory, was commended for opening in Santa Monica. Chamber members and local officials enjoyed testing out the bikes at the Broadway location, with Mayor Phil Brock being among those who took the bikes for a spin.

Finally, on March 28, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf opened its doors at 2021 Santa Monica Blvd in partnership with Providence Saint John’s Health Center. The Chamber, local officials, representatives from the national coffee chain were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with store owner Jason Park.
