Santa Maria Recognizes Outstanding Local Businesses for Q2 Contributions: Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum

On Tuesday, Santa Maria City Council recognized two local businesses for their outstanding contributions to the community. Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum were named the top businesses in the valley for the quarter ending in June 2024.

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, located at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria, was founded by Daniel Keuma in 1991 after he moved from Hawaii. Over the years, it has grown into a thriving enterprise with seven trucks and eight employees serving both residential and commercial customers. Daniel’s son, Kaniela, is eager to take over and expand the business further. The company is actively involved in supporting community events and charities, making it a beloved local favorite.

Trojan Petroleum, located at 1665 West Betteravia Rd. in Santa Maria, was founded 43 years ago by Bud and Ebba Richards. Today, it’s a full-service petroleum distributor specializing in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Trojan Petroleum also operates an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site with 15 delivery trucks. The company is highly active in numerous local civic groups and continues to be a vital part of the community’s fabric.

The Business of the Quarter program recognizes two local small businesses chosen by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce based on specific criteria such as having fewer than 20 employees, being in operation for at least five years, being physically located within city limits, and being a local chamber member in good standing. This initiative highlights diverse businesses that contribute significantly to Santa Maria’s economy while showcasing their unique stories through recognition via the City Council meeting livestreaming service.

In conclusion, honoring these two businesses underscores how crucial they are to our city’s growth and prosperity over time. It serves as a reminder of how much we appreciate their commitment to providing essential services while contributing positively to our community’s vibrant culture and values.
