Kings quietly looking to sign DeRozan in free agency

In the NBA free agency, the Sacramento Kings are emerging as a potential landing spot for guard DeMar DeRozan. This was revealed by ESPN’s Zach Lowe who described the Kings as a “sneak DeRozan team” that could make a move to acquire the 34-year-old six-time NBA All-Star.

If the Kings were to sign DeRozan, it would provide a significant offensive boost to the team and help alleviate some of the scoring load on players like Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox. However, Sacramento isn’t the only California team vying for DeRozan’s services, as the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat are also in contention.

The Kings have struggled to compete with top teams in the Western Conference and have not won a playoff series since the 2003-2004 NBA season. Adding a talented player like DeRozan could be a game-changer for Sacramento and help elevate their level of competitiveness. While it remains unclear if the Kings will be able to secure DeRozan’s signature in free agency, they are making a push to bring him on board.

DeRozan had an impressive season with Chicago Bulls last year, averaging 24.0 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game. His addition would add much-needed depth and talent to Sacramento’s roster.

In conclusion, if Sacramento can land DeRozan during this NBA free agency period, he could be just what they need to take their team to new heights of competitiveness in the Western Conference.
