Rocking Out at San Rafael Encampment: A Fight for Residency and Sustainable Solutions to Homelessness

Residents in San Rafael, California were disturbed by loud music coming from a nearby business for three consecutive nights. Bruce Gaylord, who resides in an encampment in the area, described the noise as being as loud as a rock concert and impossible to ignore. Powelson stated that East Bay Tire Co. claimed that the music was from their security system, positioned near the encampment’s fence. Despite the music issue being resolved temporarily, members of the encampment are still facing challenges with residency in San Rafael. A court hearing is scheduled for June 24th and if the city wins, residents could be forced to leave their homes on this land.
