Summer Health, a pediatric telehealth startup that offers a messaging service for parents seeking advice on various treatment questions related to breastfeeding, feeding issues, and minor health concerns, has recently completed an $11.65 million Series A funding round led by 7wireVentures and Lux Capital. Pivotal Ventures, a fund by Melinda French Gates, also contributed to the raise, along with existing investors Sequoia Capital, Box Group, and Chelsea Clinton’s Metrodora Ventures.

Founded in 2022 and based in New York City, Summer Health aims to make access to pediatric care more convenient and efficient for parents through its technological platform. The company plans to use the funds from the funding round to enhance its platform and help parents make informed decisions about their children’s health.

Ellen DaSilva, the founder and CEO of Summer Health, expressed her vision for the company stating that it was founded with the goal of radically simplifying access to pediatric care. She emphasized that the 24/7 platform gives parents access to care that fits their busy lives in minutes from anywhere.

Summer Health faces competition from other players in the pediatric care industry such as Owlet which recently partnered with telehealth staffing company Wheel to enable caregivers to prescribe Owlet’s FDA-cleared pulse oximetry socks for infants. However, Summer Health aims to revolutionize the way parents access pediatric care through its innovative telehealth platform as it continues to grow and expand its services.
