Revolutionizing land-based farming through monitoring technology

MSD Animal Health, a leading company in pharmaceutical and technological solutions for animal health, has partnered with First Water of Iceland, an innovative land-based Atlantic Salmon farming project. The partnership will see the deployment of an advanced fish monitoring technology in land-based salmon farms, marking a significant milestone for both companies.

The FALCON Biomass system, developed with over 25 years of experience in fish measurement in sea net-pens, utilizes cutting-edge vision technology and years of research to provide valuable insights into fish growth. The system has already been successfully implemented in sea net pens across Norway, Chile, and the UK.

MSD Animal Health is proud to leverage its expertise in vision technology, artificial intelligence, and biomass measurements to launch the FALCON Biomass system at Aquanor 2023 in Trondheim, Norway. This partnership with First Water marks a significant milestone for MSD Animal Health as they partner with an organization that shares their vision for sustainable aquaculture.

First Water is excited to integrate the FALCON Biomass system into its land-based fish farm. The technology will allow for more accurate monitoring of fish growth and provide real-time updates on animal health. This solution will enable data-driven decisions that will contribute to the sustainable development and expansion of operations in Iceland.

This partnership between MSD Animal Health and First Water opens up new opportunities for the adoption of vision technology in the land-based fish farming sector. The alliance not only strengthens MSD Animal Health’s position as a global leader in aquaculture technology but also paves the way for a more sustainable future for aquaculture operations worldwide.
