The township of Edison has announced plans to repair and upgrade sports courts at nine parks by the middle of summer. Bids for the work are currently being sought, with a deadline of April 30. Once the contract is awarded, the work is scheduled to be completed within 90 days.
The project will involve repairing and resurfacing sports courts at various parks including Bernard L. Dwyer Park, Minnie B. Veal/Elder Park, Hale Park, Yelencsics Park, Winter Street Park, Central Avenue Park, Paterniti Park, Thomas Swales Park, and the North Eighth Avenue tennis courts.
The scope of work includes clearing and grading, removal of existing features, pavement removal, crack repairs, installation of asphalt base and surface courses, as well as pickleball and tennis posts and nets, basketball posts and goals, a color surfacing system
