MONONA, Wis. (WMTV) – A Monona fire is below manage soon after a number of agencies responded to fight Saturday morning.

According to Monona Fire Division, it was dispatched at three:45 a.m. to the 300 block of Owen Road for a fire alarm. That alarm turned into a structure fire when a number of callers saw smoke and flames coming from a 70-unit apartment complicated.

Officials stated the second floor had heavy smoke and a Box Alarm was initiated six minutes soon after the initial caller.

Apartment residents are getting moved to a distinct place soon after a fire, according to Monona Police Division.

Neighbors say the fire began about three a.m., and reported seeing smoke pouring out of the developing hours later.

Monona fire stated the street is nonetheless an active scene, but did not give any other info on the harm from the fire or if there had been injuries.

The Red Cross set up a shelter for residents that had been displaced by the fire at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. These who had been impacted by the fire and need to have assist are asked to contact 1-800-236-8680.
