At the 2023 Globe Champion of Champions at Robina, there will be no Australian medal following Karen Murphy’s elimination in the quarterfinals. Murphy had performed effectively in the earlier stages of the tournament, but she was pitted against Singapore’s Philomena Goh Quee Kee in the quarterfinals. Goh Quee Kee had also performed strongly, earning her passage out of a hard section. In the opening set, Goh Quee Kee took an early lead, but Murphy was capable to safe a 3 on the fifth finish to tie the score. In the second set, Goh Quee Kee went by means of with out losing an finish. The final set was tense, with the Australian top with a single exchange left to play. Even so, Goh Quee Kee was capable to save the set and claim a five-five six- three-three victory. Goh Quee Kee will now face Anne Nunes in the semifinals.

In the men’s draw, Australia’s Jono Davis completed in fifth spot following a two-9 six-two five-three victory more than Hong Kong’s Ka Ho Lee. In the very first semifinal, Scotland’s Darren Gualtieri will face England’s Ed Morris, whilst Izzat Dzulkeple, the 2022 runner up, will face Wales’ Daniel Salmon in the bottom half of the draw.

The tournament is taking spot from September 12-16 at the Robina Bowls Club on the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast Tweed District will be reside streaming the tournament on their Facebook and YouTube pages.
