Rattler Joins Saints Roster as Final Piece of Draft Class Completed

The Saints have completed their rookie class by signing five more of their draft picks, including fifth-round quarterback Spencer Rattler. Rattler, the 150th overall pick, had a successful career at Oklahoma and South Carolina. Over his three seasons at Oklahoma and two seasons at South Carolina, he completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 10,807 yards with 77 touchdowns and 32 interceptions while also rushing for 16 scores.

Rattler will now join the Saints’ quarterbacks room that includes Derek Carr and Jake Haener. The team made the announcement on Thursday night that they have secured contracts with Rattler, fifth-round receiver Bub Means, fifth-round linebacker Jaylan Ford, sixth-round defensive tackle Khristian Boyd, and seventh-round offensive tackle Josiah Ezirim. With only second-round cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry as the sole unsigned draft pick remaining, the Saints are now set to start their rookie season in full strength.
