According to CBS Sports HQ senior NFL insider Josina Anderson, Rice has hired a lawyer whose statement expresses his cooperation with local authorities and commitment to handling the situation responsibly. Dallas police revealed that the crash was caused by speeding drivers in a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini in the far left lane. The Lamborghini hit the center median wall, triggering a chain reaction collision with four other vehicles. While the police report lists Rice as the suspected driver of the Corvette, it is unclear if he was present at the scene or if he will face charges related to the crash. Rice was not found in Dallas County jail records at the time of the incident.
