NBA Unveils Finalists for Teammate of the Year and Sportsmanship Award

With the NBA season drawing to a close, attention is turning towards awards season. Recently, the league announced the finalists for the Teammate of the Year Award and Sportsmanship Award. These accolades are voted on by current players, with teams submitting their nominees before a panel whittled down the group to the finalists.

The Teammate of the Year finalists for this season include a host of standout players, including Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson, Al Horford, T.J. McConnell, and more. Each of these individuals has been recognized for their selfless play on and off the court as well as their dedication to being a mentor and role model to other NBA players.

Similarly, this year’s Sportsmanship Award finalists were also unveiled and include Tyrese Maxey, Jarrett Allen, Kevin Love, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Harrison Barnes and Tre Jones. This award recognizes players who embody sportsmanship on and off the court.

Interestingly enough, Harrison Barnes from the Sacramento Kings was nominated for both awards this year. Despite reigning champions Jrue Holiday and Mike Conley not making it onto either list this time around, competition for both awards remains fierce.

Ultimately it will be up to current NBA players to decide who takes home these prestigious awards.
