Dan Morgan: Panthers stay in communication with Jadevejson Clowney

The Panthers are interested in bringing free agent pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney to Carolina, but a deal does not seem imminent, according to TheAthletic.com. Panthers General Manager Dan Morgan stated that they are keeping in touch with Clowney’s camp, but nothing has materialized yet. They are also in discussions with other players to improve their roster and make it as strong as possible.

Both the Panthers and Jets seem to be the teams most interested in Clowney, with Jets General Manager Joe Douglas confirming that they have been in talks with him as well. However, there has been no significant progress reported by either team. Clowney is coming off a successful season with the Ravens, during which he matched his career high of 9.5 sacks. Given his performance, it is understandable that teams are still interested in signing him, especially at the age of 31.

Clowney is known to take his time in free agency, often opting for one-year contracts. He is aware that he has multiple options available to him when it comes to choosing a team for the upcoming season. Despite ongoing discussions, it remains uncertain where Clowney will end up playing in the upcoming season.
