Qatar earmarks $20 million for Lebanese soldiers’ salaries

Lebanese army personnel are set to receive financial assistance from Qatari authorities in the form of $20 million. This is part of a larger initiative to help soldiers make ends meet on their current salaries. The announcement follows a previous tranche of $60 million that was approved in 2022.

The soldiers will receive $100 per month as part of this financial support from Doha. The Qatari government sees the Lebanese armed forces as a stabilizing force in the country, despite criticism from the international community about the actions of the terrorist group Hezbollah.

Despite this, there are concerns about Hezbollah’s activities being overlooked by the international community. The funding from Qatar will help support the soldiers who work to maintain stability in Lebanon, despite these challenges. It is important to note that while the Lebanese army is seen as a positive influence, there are ongoing concerns about terrorism and political instability in the region.
