Harrington secures victory in Hoag tournament with impressive birdie-birdie finish after overcoming double bogey

Padraig Harrington won the Hoag Classic on Sunday at the Newport Beach Country Club, securing his seventh PGA Tour Champions win. Despite a double bogey on the par-4 16th hole, Harrington showcased his resilience by sinking crucial birdies on the final two holes. With a downhill 15-footer on the par-3 17th and an 8-footer on the par-5 18th, Harrington finished at 14-under 199 for a one-stroke victory over Thongchai Jaidee.

The Irishman, who is set to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in June, has an impressive golfing resume with wins at The Open in 2007 and 2008, as well as the PGA Championship in 2008. Jaidee, hailing from Thailand, also put up a strong performance with a final round of 69, finishing just shy of Harrington.
