OpenAI aims to have its video creation tool, Sora, producing films in Hollywood.

OpenAI has recently launched Sorayour, an artificial intelligence tool that generates videos from text descriptions. This technology is not yet widely available, but the company aims to collaborate with the Hollywood film industry in order to demonstrate its potential benefits.

To showcase Sorayour, OpenAI will meet with major film and TV studios, as well as other industry leaders. The initiative is part of a larger plan to demonstrate how this application can be used in the entertainment industry. CEO Sam Altman has already expressed interest in the film industry, attending events related to the 2024 Oscars. Additionally, the company has granted access to Sora for a select group of actors and directors.

While Sora and OpenAI are not looking to replace principal photography, they could potentially accelerate secondary filming processes and complement existing visual effects tools. However, it is unclear when the AI will be available or if there will be associated costs.
