The first U.S. primetime show of 2024 for ONE Championship will feature a highly anticipated clash between the current ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion, “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9, and Elias “The Sniper” Mahmoudi. This colossal main event will take place on January 12 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand and will air live on Prime Video.
Superlek has had an impressive year, with an overall promotional record of 12-1 and having put together a 10-fight winning streak that saw him claim and defend the World Title while also solidifying his number one spot in the flyweight Muay Thai rankings. Despite suffering a narrow defeat to Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon in a Fight of the Year candidate in September 2023, Superlek is returning to defend his kickboxing throne.
However, he’ll face a strong challenge from Mahmoudi, who came close to winning the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title back in 2019. Mahmoudi consistently put on good performances against the flyweight elite and showed that he was ready for another shot with a dominant first-round stoppage of Edgar Tabares this past August.
This matchup promises to be a thriller as Superlek’s flawless technique and recent knockout form go up against Mahmoudi’s relentless pressure and unorthodox repertoire.
