WSFA 12 News welcomes new sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the team. Prior to joining WSFA, Baker served as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for two years. During his time at KTEN, he was the weeknight sports anchor, covering local and regional sports news in north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Additionally, he produced and hosted feature shows and football previews.
Baker is originally from Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism. Before KTEN, he interned at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia and wrote for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Georgia, focusing on UGA sports. Baker has a passion for SEC sports and is excited to highlight high school, college, and professional athletes in Alabama as part of his new role at WSFA.
WSFA’s sports director, Rosie Langello, expressed her enthusiasm about Baker’s addition to the team. Langello noted that Baker’s reputation as a hard worker with a positive attitude made him a standout candidate. She believes that his experience as a former sports director will make him a valuable asset to the team. Langello is looking forward to Baker’s involvement in the community and his dedication to covering sports teams in the area.
