New Okinawa Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bowl Opens in Aiken with a Focus on Far Eastern Cuisine

In Aiken, a new restaurant focused on Far Eastern cuisine has opened its doors. Okinawa Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bowl started serving customers on April 22nd at its location on 1695 Richland Ave. East. The owner of the restaurant is Oscar Salas, with his cousin Frank Salas managing the eatery. This location was previously occupied by Sombreros, a Mexican restaurant that closed down last year. Okinawa’s menu features a variety of options including hibachi entrees, bento boxes, cooked and raw bowls, udon, soba, and tempura. Appetizers like spring rolls, rock shrimp, calamari, fried calamari, and skewered grilled chicken are also available. In addition, they have a selection of soups and salads, as well as a special menu for children under 10 years old who are dining in.

In other restaurant news in Aiken, La Parisienne has added a new partner to their French restaurant and bakery team. Chef Darius Krzywinski has joined David Meunier as part-owner of the establishment. Meunier mentioned that Krzywinski is an experienced professional whom he has known since 1991. They plan to expand their offerings to include dinner service regularly in addition to breakfast and lunch options. Last year, Meunier had announced a partnership with Trey Bennett but that did not work out as planned.
