Adena Health Board of Trustees appoints officers and introduces new members

Adena Health has appointed Steve Hirsch as its new chair, succeeding Jennifer McKell. Hirsch, who owns the Hirsch Fruit Farm in Chillicothe, will lead the board alongside vice chair Bob French, secretary Brian Ream, and treasurer Kevin Shoemaker. McKell will remain on the board as past chair.

In addition to leadership changes, three new members have joined Adena Health’s board. Penny Dehner, Jim Crabtree, and Sean Kallner have been elected to represent First Presbyterian Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Tabernacle Baptist Church respectively. Dehner is a retired behavioral health administrator with years of experience in the field. Crabtree has a background in education, marketing and telecommunications management while Kallner’s diverse background spans financial planning, school administration and business management.

The new members are filling the seats previously held by Bart Henshaw, Larry Phillips and Joe Watson who have served their maximum terms on the board. As a token of appreciation for their service to Adena Health, these departing members have been honored with a donation to the Adena Health Foundation fund of their choice.

Adena Health’s board consists of 15 members representing the founding churches of the organization as well as at-large members and medical staff members. The board brings a variety of expertise and perspectives to address the needs of communities served by Adena Healthcare providers and services.
