Nico Wiener celebrated his victory with a fist pump after securing a better 10 in his quarterfinal tiebreak against the current Hyundai Archery World Cup Champion, Mathias Fullerton. This win earned Wiener a spot in the second compound men’s final four of his career. The giant Austrian will be up against Korea’s Yang Jaewon, under-21 world champion Priyansh, and Nick Kappers in the upcoming match.
Fullerton, who was seeded first and considered the best at the moment, performed strongly throughout the event but finished in seventh place after the quarterfinal match with Wiener. Despite acknowledging some luck in his win, Wiener credited his improvement and dedication to the sport for his success.
