Nashville Swimmer Sets New World Record in Women’s 100-Meter Butterfly at US Olympic Trials

Gretchen Walsh made history by setting a world record in the women’s 100-meter butterfly at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials in Indianapolis. Her incredible feat was achieved by posting a time of 55.18 seconds in a semifinal heat, making her over half a second faster than the previous world record set by Sweden’s Sarah Sjöström at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
