Driver Points and NASCAR Cup Results from Nashville

Rookie Zane Smith secured the second position while Tyler Reddick finished third, Ryan Preece fourth, and Chris Buescher fifth in Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup race at Nashville Superspeedway. The race was won by Joey Logano after a series-record five overtimes were completed before he took the checkered flag. In an unexpected turn of events, Christopher Bell clinched victory in both stages but unfortunately crashed in the third stage, finishing in the 36th position and ending his streak of five consecutive top-10 finishes.

Logano’s triumph resulted in a playoff cutline shift, elevating him from the final playoff spot. This victory makes him the 11th driver to lock in a playoff berth through a win, while five spots remain available via points with seven races remaining. Alex Bowman currently holds the final playoff position, with Bubba Wallace, Chase Briscoe, and Kyle Busch following behind but trailing by considerable margins.

The NASCAR Cup field faced a bottleneck during the race after Kyle Larson ran out of fuel approaching the green flag on the third overtime restart at Nashville Superspeedway, with Kyle Busch sustaining the most damage as a result.
