Disabled passengers mistakenly flown 2,000 km away from intended destination

The couple boarded the plane, requesting to sit together. The flight attendant accommodated them in the second row, which was empty. However, no one realized that they were not supposed to be on the plane as they boarded without any questions about their boarding passes. They later woke up in Lithuania, causing distress and confusion.

The pilot learned of the mistake and reprimanded the crew for not catching it earlier. As a result, the couple had to take a longer route via Riga, Latvia to reach their intended destination in Barcelona. The journey that was supposed to be a short flight from Copenhagen to Barcelona turned into an unexpected ordeal spanning two days. To make matters worse, their luggage was left behind on the original flight, adding to their inconvenience.

The couple expressed shock and disbelief at how such a mix-up could happen despite numerous checks of their boarding passes. An investigation has been launched by the airport assistance company responsible for overseeing such situations to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Despite facing challenges along the way, the couple eventually reached Barcelona after a long and unplanned journey. They were grateful for making it to their destination but also shaken by the experience. The incident highlighted the importance of thorough checks and procedures to ensure that passengers are on the correct flights and minimize mix-ups in future travels.
