LSU started off the morning of July 4th with a bang, securing a big commitment from Class of 2025 four-star defensive tackle Zion Williams from Lufkin, Texas. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound prospect made his decision to pledge to the Tigers just before 8 am CT.
Williams was highly sought after by top programs such as Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, USC, Florida, TCU and Arkansas. However, in the end, he chose LSU. With this addition, LSU’s 2025 class now has 13 commitments, with all but one being four-stars or better. Their class is currently ranked No.11 in the Recruiting Team Rankings.
LSU has been focusing more on the offensive side of the ball in this recruiting cycle, with nine offensive commitments compared to just four defensive commitments. Joining Williams in the Tigers’ 2025 class is also four-star defensive end LaJesse Harrold, making it two defensive linemen in the haul so far.
