Jody Murphy from Parkersburg recently achieved his first career hole-in-one at Worthington Golf Club. On Tuesday, June 11, while playing in the Knights of Columbus league, he used a 7-iron to ace the 145-yard, par-3, No. 4 hole. Witnessing the impressive shot were Kaleb Deon and Mike Evans. In other golf news, the Wirt County High School volleyball team will be hosting a golf scramble at Mingo Bottom Golf Club on Saturday, July 27. The cost to participate is $200 per foursome, with prizes available for first and second place. Lunch and snacks will be provided for all participants. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Each player will receive two mulligans, and a teebuster option is available for $10. There will also be a 50-50 raffle with options to purchase multiple tickets
