James P. Youngs named chairman of the board for Small Business Development Center

James P. Youngs, a litigation chair and lead attorney for minority women business enterprise certification and services at Hancock Estabrook LLP, has been appointed to the advisory board of the New York State Small Business Development Center. The New York SBDC is a group comprised of business, government, and educational leaders from across the state who provide advice and expertise to the organization’s executive director and staff in assisting entrepreneurs and small businesses in New York.

Youngs’ practice at Hancock Estabrook focuses on representing companies, organizations, municipalities, and individuals in various matters such as business and contract disputes, regulatory and administrative proceedings, intellectual property infringement claims, construction disputes, and real property litigation. He also assists new and existing businesses seeking minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) certification from New York State and other accrediting agencies. Youngs has extensive experience in this growing area of law with numerous successful appeals from denials of certification.
