Launching Brighton’s Growing Grads Bootcamp: Empowering Young Entrepreneurs with Business Skills and Self-Confidence

Brighton’s Growing Grads program is a unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs to learn how to start and run a business, as well as develop the creative and communication skills needed for success. The program also covers the expenses to consider when starting a business.

According to Tawnya Russell, Youth Services Manager, the program has been incredibly rewarding for Brighton’s youth in helping them develop important business skills and gain self-confidence. The boot camp is constantly evolving to meet the needs of all participants and is expected to be even better in 2024.

The boot camp program will take place at Brighton’s City Hall on 500 South 4th Ave. An orientation for all ages will take place on June 25 from 3-5 p.m. The program itself will run on June 26 and June 27.

The program is tailored for young adults aged 19 and below, with separate sessions for different age groups. The program for ages 12 and younger will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, while the program for those aged 13 and older will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to sell their products at the Brighton City BBQ festival on July 18, which provides them with an excellent platform to showcase their talents and potentially gain more exposure for their businesses in future events or markets. Registration for the boot camp can be done through the city’s website, with applications due by June 14
