Kirsten Neuschäfer has been nominated for the Laureus World Sports Awards, which celebrate individuals and teams in the world of sports for their achievements throughout the year. The 25th edition of the awards features Neuschäfer as the sole sailing nominee for her remarkable accomplishments in 2023.
In April 2023, Neuschäfer made history by becoming the first woman to win a solo round-the-world race, crossing the finish line at Les Sables d’Olonne in France on April 27 after over 235 days at sea. This achievement not only earned her the 2023 Rolex World Sailor of the Year award but also has her nominated in the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year category.
The Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 22, 2024, in Madrid, Spain. To view the full list of nominees, click here.
