A bug preventing eBook downloads on certain Kindle models is fixed by Amazon

On Wednesday, Amazon acknowledged a bug that was preventing Kindle users from downloading e-books on models like Paperwhite, Oasis, Signature Edition, and Basic due to a service interruption. Users reported issues with downloading both new and previously purchased titles on platforms like Reddit and Amazon’s forum. Even restarting the devices didn’t resolve the error. This bug specifically impacted the ability to download e-books on certain Kindle devices, but users could still access their e-books via the Kindle app on Android and iOS phones, which remained unaffected.

Initially, Amazon advised users that it might take at least 48 hours, if not longer, before the issue could be resolved and e-books could be downloaded again. However, after several hours of work by their team of developers and engineers, Amazon has now announced that the error has been fixed. Restoring normal access to e-books for affected users is now possible. Jackie Burke, a spokesperson for Amazon devices confirmed this news stating that the issue reported by some Kindle customers was swiftly resolved.

This resolution comes as a relief to Kindle users who had been experiencing difficulties with accessing their digital libraries due to the bug. With the problem now fixed, users can download and enjoy their e-books as usual on their Kindle devices. This update from Amazon will likely reassure customers who rely on their e-readers for accessing digital content.
