He asked a friend for an Advil, but his memory of the events that followed is virtually nonexistent. He spent 20 days in the hospital without any recollection of what happened during that time. Foxx mentioned that his sister and daughter took him to a doctor in Atlanta, where he received a cortisone shot after the doctor noticed something concerning in his head.
The actor teased that he plans to open up about his health crisis soon, in a funny and entertaining way on stage. Foxx hinted that the show would be called “What Had Happened Was” and would touch on the events that occurred in his community during his time of need.
In a video update last July, Foxx acknowledged the emotional journey he had gone through during his recovery, expressing that he didn’t want fans to see him in a vulnerable state. His daughter Corinne had previously announced his hospitalization while filming a Netflix movie with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta.
