Jamaal Williams Needs “Certain Duration” for Complete Recovery from Hamstring Injury

Saints operating back Jamaal Williams sustained a hamstring injury in the course of Monday night’s game and will not be returning to the field in the close to future. Head coach Dennis Allen addressed the injury in the course of a press conference on Tuesday, stating that Williams will be out for “some time.” Regrettably, Allen did not supply a far more distinct timeline for his return. With this in thoughts, it is most likely that the Saints will be bringing Tony Jones onto their 53-man roster. Jones has been promoted from the practice squad for the previous two weeks and demonstrated his worth by scoring two touchdowns on Monday evening right after Williams left the game. It is critical to note that Jones was the sole backup for Williams, as Kendre Miller was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. If Miller does not recover in time for the upcoming week, the Saints may well want to add a further operating back to their roster alongside Jones. This is specifically important taking into consideration Alvin Kamara will be serving his final suspension game.
