IU Health Ditches Noncompete Clauses for Primary Care Physicians, Promoting Professional Growth and Patient-Centered Care

This decision marks a significant shift in IU Health’s employment policies and will go into effect on December 15.

The move comes as IU Health launches new employment agreements for its medical group, the IU Health Medical Group, which will not include noncompete clauses. The organization is also considering the impact of noncompete clauses on physicians in other medical specialties and remains committed to ongoing evaluation of this topic to ensure alignment with their goals.

Kevin Gebke, senior vice president of Community Medicine at IU Health, emphasized the organization’s support for primary care physicians and their patients through this decision.
