Israeli Army confirms death of Hamas’ 3rd-in-command in recent Gaza attack

The Israeli Army has announced the death of Marwan Issa, the ‘number 3’ of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in an airstrike carried out at the beginning of the month in the Nuseirat refugee camp, in the center of Gaza. Issa, who was also known as Mohamed Deif’s ‘number two’, helped organize attacks on October 7 that left over 1,200 dead and more than 240 hostages. His death was previously announced by White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan last week.

According to reports, another senior Hamas member, Commander Ghazi Abu Tamaa, head of the combat and administrative assistance staff, was killed in the same attack on March 10. Israel launched its offensive against Gaza after these attacks. Since then, more than 32,300 Palestinians have been reported dead by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza due to Israeli military actions and settler violence.
