The Indian women will face Italy in the final of the World Archery Championships in Shanghai. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Parneet Kaur and Aditi Swami are part of the Indian team. However, their coach Sergio Pagni is not with them as he is attending a camp in India.
In the semifinals, Kazakhstan was tied with Italy at 227 points. Marcella Tonioli from Italy acknowledged that there were some errors made during the match, but overall it was a good competition. The Dutch men also secured their spot in the final by winning a tiebreak against France. Mike Schloesser, Sil Pater, and Stef Willems shot three perfect X-ring 10s.
Schloesser was surprised by the result as they entered the bracket as underdogs. The Kazakhstan women’s team and Korean men’s team both secured bronze medals at the end of the session. The competition continues this afternoon with recurve qualifying.
