India U-19 captain Uday Saharan is determined to lead his team to victory against Australia in the World Cup final. During a huddle against South Africa in the semifinal at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, Saharan told his team, “We can’t lose to Australia again.”
Saharan’s determination was echoed by Sanjay Dhas, father of Sachin, who starred in the semis with 96 against the best pace attack of the tournament. Dhas spoke about how Australia has always dominated India in big tournaments and how they lost the World Test Championship (WTC) final and then the ODI World Cup final.
Despite these losses, Dhas emphasized that beating Australia is crucial for India’s pride and that they must beat them at their own game. He said, “Each one of them is ready for this match. They want to beat Australia in the final.”
During a moment of reflection, Saharan shared that he had told his team after the Pakistan vs Australia tie that they could not lose to them again. This conversation took place as the team was on their way to the hotel. The entire group was determined to put an end to their losing streak against Australia and make history as champions at the World Cup.
