Illinois Golfers Shine at John Deere Classic, with Max McGreevy Securing Win

Golfers from Illinois will be in the spotlight at the upcoming John Deere Classic, which takes place from July 4th to July 10th at TPC Deere Run in Silvis. Two Illini golfers, Jackson Buchanan and Dylan Meyer, are set to compete in this prestigious tournament.

Buchanan is making his Korn Ferry Tour debut and has already made a name for himself with his impressive performance. He finished tied for 39th with a score of 13-under, becoming the only amateur to make it to the weekend. Meyer, on the other hand, finished T48 with an even-par 71. Although he was disappointed with his result, he is content with his finish and paycheck as he aims to gain full-time status.

Meanwhile, Max McGreevy secured his second win on the Korn Ferry Tour by making a birdie on the final hole. After bogeying the 17th hole, McGreevy entered the final hole tied for the lead but rallied and carded a two under 69 to win the tournament. This victory will take McGreevy back to the PGA Tour, where he played last season before losing his card.

Looking ahead, players are excited about what’s in store for them at this year’s John Deere Classic. With its challenging course and competitive field of players, it’s sure to be an exciting event that golf fans won’t want to miss out on.
