The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed its gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which broke attendance records and showcased the global appeal of cricket. The tournament took place from 5 October to 19 November across ten host cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune and warm-up venues in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram.
ICC Chair Greg Barclay commended the success of the event and thanked the BCCI for delivering an exceptional World Cup experience. He also extended his appreciation to the Match Officials and ICC staff for their contribution to the event’s success as well as to all ten participating teams for making the World Cup a memorable one.
