Monday, April 15 saw some exciting high school sports action as Chapin defeated El Paso High with a score of 13-2 and Ysleta emerged victorious with a 17-5 win over Parkland in the baseball games. Fatima Hernandez had a great game for Chapin, going 2-2 with a home run and 2 RBIs. El Paso High’s S. Gomez and D. Villagrana also had solid performances, contributing with an RBI each. Chapin pitcher Khloe Jensen had a strong outing with 2 strikeouts.
In the high school baseball games, Ferreyra pitched a great game for Riverside with 8 strikeouts. Cervantes, Cardenas, and Ferreyra were standout hitters for Riverside. Olivas hit a home run with 2 RBIs to contribute to the victory. Ysleta also emerged victorious with a score of 17-5 over Parkland. Santiago Osorio pitched well for Ysleta, striking out 5 batters in 3 innings. Louie Lopez, Tavo Sanchez, Evan Martinez, and Daniel Terrazas all had solid performances at the plate for Ysleta.
