After 14 years of direction at Housemarque, Harry Krueger is stepping down from the studio. Krueger expressed his gratitude for his time at the company and noted that each project was a dream come true. His contribution to the growth of the studio was significant, moving from arcade games to ambitious projects such as Returnal. While Krueger described his departure as difficult, he is excited about the future and believes that Housemarque’s new projects will be successful. He also expressed confidence in the strong team remaining at Housemarque and Sony’s continued support of the Finnish studio.

Ilari Kuittinen, co-founder and CEO of Housemarque, highlighted Krueger’s important impact on the development of the studio. Under his leadership, Housemarque surpassed several milestones, including the rebirth of the arcade genre with Returnal. Kuittinen sees this moment as an ideal opportunity for new leadership to take over and continue building on Krueger’s foundation. Housemarque is now preparing for its next big project: Kuittinnen announced that the studio is working on “the next big hit” from Finland, carrying on Krueger’s legacy and innovations introduced during his time at Housemarque.
