Halftime Score: Saints Lead six-three in Monday Evening Football

In the initial half of Monday night’s game in between the Saints and the Panthers, fans who appreciate offensive football have been left wanting. The game has been marked by six punts, two turnovers, and 3 field ambitions. The Saints are top six-three, courtesy of two field ambitions by kicker Blake Grupe. Having said that, Carolina had a likelihood to at least tie the game ahead of halftime. Sadly, quarterback Bryce Young lost the ball for the duration of a sack by Carl Granderson in the red zone. The Saints recovered, but their subsequent drive was hindered by two sacks from the Panthers defense.

Speaking of the Panthers defense, they have been impressive in the initial half. They managed to sack Young twice and intercepted a pass from David Carr thanks to security Vonn Bell. On the other side, Young has struggled, finishing only eight-of-13 passes for 66 yards.

Injuries have also impacted each teams. Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson was initially believed to have a shin injury but was later determined to have an ankle injury. He will not be returning to the game. Meanwhile, Saints operating back Jamaal Williams left the field with a hamstring injury, leaving Tony Jones Jr. as the only offered operating back. Having said that, Jones just joined the group from the practice squad, so his effect could be restricted.

As the second half starts, the group that can modify their offensive fortunes will have a very good likelihood at securing the win.
