Hailey Van Lith to join TCU’s challenging but promising basketball program

Hailey Van Lith, a standout player for LSU this season, has announced her decision to transfer to TCU for her final year. Van Lith played for three seasons with Louisville before moving to LSU, where she reached the Elite Eight before being eliminated by Iowa. With TCU, she aims to play her fifth and final season.

During her time with Louisville and LSU, Van Lith averaged 14.5 points, four rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game as a wing at Louisville and a point guard at LSU. She joins a TCU program that faced challenges due to injuries this season but made an appearance in the AP Top 25 despite finishing with a record of 21-12 and 6-12 in conference play under second-year coach Mark Campbell.

The Horned Frogs began the season with a strong start, winning their first 13 games and defeating BYU in the Big 12 Conference opener. However, they suffered from six consecutive losses and forfeited two games due to injuries before holding open tryouts to add players to their roster. Van Lith’s exceptional statistics as the only active Division I player with over 1,900 points, 500 rebounds, and 350 assists make her an exciting addition to the TCU roster.

Aside from playing basketball for TCU next season, Van Lith is also known for being an active member of USA Basketball and is currently a candidate for the national team competing in Paris this summer.

In conclusion, Hailey Van Lith’s decision to transfer to TCU marks an exciting new chapter in her basketball career as she looks forward to playing her final year under Coach Campbell while continuing to excel on the court with impressive statistics that set her apart from other Division I players.
