Did you know that Marysville Higher College students participated in and won accolades at the regional Science Olympiad competitors? 

On March 11th, the MHS group participated in the Regional Science Olympiad Bridge-Creating competitors. They placed in Tier 1 and Tier 11 out of 28 teams for their initially competitors.  Way to go, MHS!! This is the initially year the Marysville Joint Unified College District has had a group participate in this nationally recognized competitors.

With a consistently altering roster of events in all regions of Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Science Olympiad assists students discover about future careers in these fields. Founded in 1984, Science Olympiad is the premier STEM competitors in the United States, permitting thousands of students from almost six,500+ teams to participate in 425 tournaments  in 50 states and realize their maximum prospective. The Science Olympiad participants realize the application of academic requirements,  demonstration of abilities via overall performance testing, studying via hands-on activities, teamwork, and creating applications and connections to the true planet as nicely as how to integrate science into the complete spectrum of studying.

The MHS group is advised by Science Teacher Michelle Woodward and 5 students are on the group: Silas Ellenson, Logan Beach, Chase Uhrich, Benjamin Kanavalchuk, and Syrus Harryman. This group brought the notion to participate in the Science Olympiad to Mrs Woodward and have been functioning tirelessly on the bridge-constructing competitive solution.  We are excited to see the expansion of this chance so that lots of elementary (5th grade), middle, and higher college teams can participate subsequent year.
