Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has been fined by a Stockholm court for two counts of disobedience for participating in protests in front of the country’s Parliament. Despite sitting in front of Parliament with a group of other protesters on March 12 and two days later as part of her climate change protests, Thunberg refused to leave when asked by police, resulting in her being forcibly removed.
The court found Thunberg guilty of disobedience and fined her accordingly. This is not the first time Thunberg has faced charges for these actions, as she has been convicted since last year. During her trial, Thunberg emphasized the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for everyone to take action.
