Governor Gordon Hosts Mental Health Town Hall Meeting in Casper to Discuss Health Issues

Governor Mark Gordon is set to host a Town Hall meeting in Casper on February 13 to discuss mental health care. The event, which will be open to the public, will take place at Casper College Wheeler Music Hall from 1:30 to 3 pm.

Governor Gordon has made improving access to mental health resources a top priority and believes that community engagement through these Town Halls has been crucial in identifying priorities and addressing the most significant issues. He is looking forward to hearing directly from Casper residents about the efforts underway to increase awareness of available resources and improve access to mental health care.

Representatives of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, as well as local elected officials, have been invited to attend the meeting. Last week, Governor Gordon launched an initiative called the “Mental Health Roadmap” aimed at addressing Wyoming’s ongoing mental health crisis. The roadmap identifies five pillars that are critical to improving outcomes for those battling mental health issues, and Governor Gordon will outline these during the Casper Town Hall.

The Town Hall serves as an opportunity for community members to discuss their thoughts and experiences directly with the Governor and other officials. The meeting will provide a platform for local communities to voice their concerns and provide input on how to address mental health care in the region. The Governor and attendees will engage in discussions on strategies aimed at addressing Wyoming’s mental health crisis and making progress toward ensuring that more resources are available to those who need them.
