B&B Theatres Multiplex in New Jersey’s American Dream Mall to Unveil World’s Largest ScreenX Auditorium

ScreenX, a multi-projection cinema developed by Korea’s CJ 4DPlex, is set to open its largest global location just outside New York City. B&B Theatres, the fifth-largest movie theater chain in the U.S., will operate eight screens at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, NJ.

The shopping and entertainment complex has been under construction for several years due to the real estate and financial crisis of the late-2000s and then Covid in 2020. The mall now features a Nickelodeon-branded theme park, DreamWorks water park, an indoor ski hill and other attractions next to Met Life Stadium, home to two NFL teams and a regular series of concerts and events.

ScreenX offers an immersive viewing experience by projecting complementary images onto side walls of an auditorium, creating a 270-degree panoramic view for moviegoers. The new room at the American Dream will feature an 80-foot-wide center screen and side walls measuring 82 feet each for a total of 242 feet of viewing range. Liberty-based B&B plans to provide multiple bowling lanes, arcade games, food options including a restaurant and full-service bar at the multiplex. More details on amenities will be released later on.

“Expanding to the American Dream underscores our commitment to providing the most immersive and enjoyable entertainment experiences possible,” said Brock Bagby, President and Chief Content Officer for B&B Theatres. “Our theater complex at Minnesota’s Mall of America has been a tremendous success.” Don Savant, CEO & President CJ 4DPLEX America added that B&B is a trusted partner in expanding ScreenX brand in US. He said that American Dream offers an unmatched cinematic experience that enhances the appeal of this iconic New Jersey landmark and attracts visitors from around the world
