Millions lost as popular home technology company declares bankruptcy

In 2023, HMI Anlagenbau GmbH (FN 460164m) faced financial difficulties due to late payments by clients for large construction projects and a lack of orders. The company, which specializes in gas, plumbing, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning technology, as well as operating an engineering office for building services, incurred debts amounting to approximately 10.6 million euros. As a result, the company initiated a restructuring procedure without self-administration but terminated it after a restructuring plan was accepted.

Creditreform has now reported that bankruptcy proceedings have been applied for and opened for HMI Anlagenbau GmbH. This decision was made due to the dire financial situation of the company and its inability to continue operations. According to Creditreform, no new orders are expected in the near future and the company has agreed to cease its operations.

This news affects 39 employees of the company who will lose their jobs due to the closure of HMI Anlagenbau GmbH. The sources state that this is not just a localized event but rather a reflection of the global economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors such as supply chain disruptions and trade tensions between countries.

In conclusion, HMI Anlagenbau GmbH’s bankruptcy is a reminder of how important it is for businesses to have strong financial management practices in place to weather economic downturns. It also highlights the importance of legal representation for individuals and companies facing financial difficulties.
