Georgia Bulldogs Duo Sign Big-Money Deals: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Heads to Orlando, Nic Claxton Goes to Brooklyn

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, a former star basketball player for the Georgia Bulldogs, has recently signed a three-year, $66 million contract with the Orlando Magic. After spending the 2023-2024 NBA season playing for the Denver Nuggets, where they were eliminated in the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves, Caldwell-Pope is bringing championship experience to his new team.

With a young core in Orlando, the team hopes that Caldwell-Pope’s experience and skills can help them advance further in the NBA postseason after their first-round exit in 2024 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his time with the Denver Nuggets, Caldwell-Pope averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He also had a strong three-point shooting percentage of 40.6%, which will be valuable to the Magic as they look to improve their scoring abilities.

Meanwhile, another former Georgia star has made headlines with a recent signing of his own – Nic Claxton has signed a four-year, $100 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets. It seems like former Bulldogs players are making waves in the NBA with these lucrative and impactful signings.
